Robert Kamand was born in 1968 which places him firmly into generation X. Discovering photography at an early age through his father and trying to connect to the past through old pictures instilled a love of the medium. 

The freedom inherent in a young art form and the immediacy of photography is why he has chosen it as his means of expression.
